A course on Quran recitation and Tajweed (based on Narration of Hafs from Asim) for women concluded in Sri Lanka.

The course was organized by the World Society of Islamic Dawah in Sri Lanka and held at Al-Najm Mosque in the region of Kasluta of Colombo, capital of the country.

According to arabic.islamic-call website, the course which was attended by 52 women included special forums on the rules of Quran recitation, evaluation, and correct pronunciation.

The public prayers leader of Al-Najm Mosque referred to the course as a good opportunity for Muslim women to learn about Quranic sciences and rules of Tajweed, and stressed the importance of specialized Quran courses in further educating the local residents.

The participants were given completion certificates at the end of the course and a 63 year old woman who had attended all the events and forums was honored.
