The Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement congratulated the Libyan nation on the victory of their revolution.

According to the Al-Mughawima Al-Islamia website, Hezbollah issued a statement yesterday, October 21, in which it hailed the fall of a despotic regime that ruled Libya for over four decades.

It said the Libyan people now have a historical opportunity and a great responsibility to rebuild their country. The Libyan nation ought to take the opportunity and safeguard its wealth from the great powers who seek to plunder it, the statement said.

Hezbollah also called on the new Libyan government to make efforts to shed light on the fate of Imam Musa Sadr and his two companions who disappeared during a visit to Libya more than three decades ago.

Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi was killed during an attack on its convoy outside the city of Sirte on Thursday, October 20.
