"If you’re a terrorist on behalf of Israel, as MKO is, then you’re kosher as far as (US-based Israeli publicist) Dershowitz is concerned. And your money is golden,” Richard Silverstein wrote in an article published March 8 on his blog, Rohama reported according to Press TV.
The Seattle-based blogger also noted, "How much money is the MKO dropping on (Alan) Dershowitz? I’d be shocked if he’d sell himself any cheaper than USD 50,000 a pop."
Speaking at a conference in Washington on February 25, Dershowitz - a fervently pro-Israel Jewish American lawyer and Harvard professor - expressed support for the anti-Iranian terrorist group and described Camp Liberty, MKO’s temporary residence near the Iraqi capital city, as "a garbage dump.”
Silverstein believes that the money MKO pays to purchase the services of US politicians in speaking on its behalf comes from assassinations the anti-Iran terrorist group carries out for Mossad.
"Where does the money come from? Possibly from the Iran assassinations the MKO performs on Mossad’s behalf, which undoubtedly pay well. Then there’s the possibility that the USD 400-million Bush allocated for destabilizing Iran in 2007 has found its way either to the MKO or Mossad (or both),” he noted.
Silverstein further made reference to Josh Rogin's article published on Foreign Policy on February 29, and asserts that Camp Liberty is not what former New York mayor Rudi Giuliani or Dershowitz claim.
Rogin said in the article that neither man ever called Camp Liberty a "concentration camp" or a "garbage dump" when it housed hundreds of US soldiers for years during the Iraq war. He also noted that it if anything, it’s the MKO residents of the camp that are rendering it uninhabitable.
Silverstein then called Dershowitz "a fabulist" for his claims on the Camp Liberty, and describing it as "a garbage dump".
"The only human right he (Dershowitz) cares about is Israel’s "right” to do whatever the hell it wants to the Palestinians. As far as the rights of others go, he could give a crap. Unless of course, it serves Israel’s interests,” the Jewish blogger commented.
"If anyone who’s taking MKO cash thinks these people advocate democracy for Iran, let them take a look at the people they assassinated before they were run out of the country after the 1979 Revolution, or the Americans they murdered afterward. These are radical extremists willing to use any and all means to gain their objectives. When it was convenient for them to kill Americans, they did so. Now that it’s more convenient and remunerative to kill Iranian scientists, they do so,” Silverstein pointed out.
The MKO fled to Iraq in 1986, where it enjoyed the support of Iraq's executed dictator Saddam Hussein and set up its camp near the Iranian border.
The group is also known to have cooperated with Saddam in suppressing the 1991 uprisings in southern Iraq and the massacre of Iraqi Kurds. The group has carried out numerous acts of violence against Iranian civilians and government officials.
Iran has repeatedly called on the Iraqi government to expel the group, but the US has attempted to block the expulsion by mounting pressure on the Iraqi government.
