Central leader of Pakistani Islamic party on Wednesday said that relations between Islamic Republic of Iran and Egypt would strengthen in times to come.

Dr. Farid Ahmad Paracha, Deputy Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami said that Iran is one of the major countries of the Muslim world and strong relationship with the Islamic Republic is in the interest of Egypt.

He welcomed the success of Mohamed Morsi as the President of Egypt adding that Egypt could play a significant role as a pillar of the regional peace and stability.

Mohamed Morsi has become the first Islamist to be elected president of the Arab world's most populous nation. Morsi, the country's first elected leader since a popular uprising ousted president Hosni Mubarak, won 51.73 percent of the vote against ex-premier Ahmed Shafiq.

The election result put an end to more than a year of mass protests and rising crime and economic woes after the 18-day revolution that forced the former dictator Hosni Mubarak to step down on Feb. 11, 2011.

Dr. Farid Ahmad Paracha said that the victory of Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is the result of the sacrifices made by the party for past 84 years. "It is a great achievement,” he added.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader went on to say said that the victory of Muslim Brotherhood has shown to the world that the path of aggression cannot succeed. "The agents of imperialism have to face a shameful defeat,” he pointed out.

The political leader was of the opinion that Western efforts to weaken Muslim Ummah will fail. He said that Mohamed Morsi is a senior politician and would lead his country efficiently in difficult times.

Dr. Farid Ahmad Paracha strongly believed that the new Egyptian government would become a bridge for bringing unity among Muslim world. He said that Iran is one of the major countries of the Muslim world and strong relationship with the Islamic Republic is in the interest of Egypt.

"We Muslims have to realize that the west is not with any Muslim state,” he viewed.

Deputy Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami said that definitely Mohamed Morsi will review its relations with Israel and other western states. He noted that Mr. Morsi will support the Palestinian cause to weaken Israel. "I think Mosri will pursue a balanced foreign policy,” said the political leader.
