Organization of the Islamic Conference Called for Solidarity and Brotherhood Among Muslims
The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has strongly condemned the deadly bombings in Karachi (Pakistan) and Karbala (Iraq), on Friday 5th February 2010 against Shiites that killed and injured a large number of innocent people including women and children.
The Secretary General extended his condolences to the Governments and Peoples of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Republic of Iraq as well as to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

He further reiterated that these heinous and inhuman acts which resulted in the loss of innocent lives of Muslim people cannot be justified under any pretext and should be strongly condemned by all Muslims,

He appealed to the Muslim people and their religious leaders in Pakistan and Iraq to vigorously work toward solidarity and brotherhood among themselves and to unite their ranks against any attempt to stir sectarian divide.
